Carbonature - The Lovers (NFS)

Story - This was originally designed for the Carbonature Park hopefully to be built in Bridgetown.
The cast of the two women waited for a couple of years before being placed in their Jarrah Tree to become one.
When we decided to open the Sculpture Park I wanted to finalise this piece for the models who made the work possible, for myself and for you to enjoy.

Redgum, Jarrah Charoal, steel, Granite

Some pieces make themselves. I almost tripped over this Redgum as it slowly rotted away on the forest floor.

As soon as I saw it I realised the perfect body shape and when I put the two together they just fit.

Obviously, the wood looks like the ancient shaped leather armour that the gladiators wore. This one is a Carbonature warrior.

A wonderful mysterious work by night, I have lit it with coloured light which gives the sculpture movement and life.
